The highest performing employees are their companies' greatest assets and when they leave, it's a blow. Productivity will be marked by a significant decline and finding someone as good as the person who left will take a long time and cost a lot of money. Companies are, therefore, doing everything possible, and impossible, to keep their best people. But the question is: Is this what they should do?
